
A serious road traffic accident occurred in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A passenger bus traveling on the Jaisalmer–Jodhpur road suddenly caught fire. According to the NDTV channel, at least 20 people died as a result of this incident, and more than 10 passengers were injured.
There were a total of 57 passengers on the bus. According to witnesses, they first saw smoke coming from the back of the vehicle.
The driver stopped on the roadside to assess the situation, but within a few minutes the entire bus was engulfed in flames. Due to the rapid spread of the fire, many passengers were unable to get out of the bus.
When rescuers and firefighters arrived at the scene, the bus was almost completely burned. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
According to doctors, some are in serious condition, and many suffered severe burn injuries. It is currently reported that the death toll may rise.
According to official information, the fire likely resulted from a short circuit. Police and experts have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
The Rajasthan government promised to provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased. Indian media outlets are calling this incident one of the deadliest transport disasters in the country in recent years.
