The reconstruction of several facilities at Tashkent International Airport has been successfully completed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, the arrivals hall, terrace, and VIP lounge in the departure terminal have been renovated. The building's facade was extended forward, creating an additional area of 2200 square meters.
As a result, the total area of the waiting hall reached almost 5000 square meters, and the number of seats increased to 200. In the near future, cafes, bars, ice cream shops, retail outlets, and a flower shop are planned to open within the airport premises.
Additionally, a new arrival lane was constructed. The old lane is now designated only for tourist buses and official taxis.
Currently, two operators are active at the airport, and four more operators will start working soon. On the second lane, waiting cars and taxi aggregators can stop, but the time must not exceed 10 minutes.
Time compliance is monitored through cameras connected to the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, and violators are automatically fined. The parking area in the arrivals zone has also been expanded and can now accommodate 347 vehicles.
This is an intermediate stage of the reconstruction process. In the future, the arrivals and departures halls will be combined into a single terminal with an area exceeding 16,000 square meters.
The airport's capacity is planned to reach 2400 passengers per hour. A terrace with an area of 2200 square meters was opened on the second floor of the departure terminal.
This area is equipped with umbrellas, benches, and a microclimate system. Several cafes will open here soon.
Additionally, the VIP departure lounge has been renovated. An additional 300 square meters were added to the previous 1100 square meters, expanding the lounge and increasing the number of rest areas.
