
A tax-free zone is planned to be established in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan, for new projects related to artificial intelligence (AI) and data processing centers (DPC). This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to government information cited by the Reuters news agency, foreign companies ready to invest 100 million US dollars or more within this project will be fully exempt from taxes and customs duties until 2040.
The government promises to create the necessary infrastructure for these companies and to provide electricity at preferential prices. At the same time, the start date for infrastructure construction and the names of companies planning to participate in the project have not yet been disclosed.
The government of Uzbekistan aims to attract over 1 billion dollars in foreign investments by 2030 to develop AI and IT infrastructure. This initiative is expected to contribute to the growth of the country's digital technology sector.
