The area located between Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico in the northwestern part of the Atlantic Ocean is famous as the "Bermuda Triangle." This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This region has been associated with many legends and mysterious events, sparking the interest of people worldwide. According to historical data, hundreds of ships and airplanes have disappeared without a trace in this area.
These incidents have led people to believe that "there is something extraordinary in the Bermuda Triangle." According to National Geographic, the earliest records about the Bermuda Triangle date back to the time of Christopher Columbus.
Columbus wrote in his diary about the compass behaving strangely and bright lights in the sky in this region. The term "Bermuda Triangle" was first used in 1964 by journalist Vincent Gaddis.
He wrote an article in the magazine "Argosy" about the disappearance of Flight 19, which belonged to the US Air Force, attracting global attention. The most famous event related to the Bermuda Triangle occurred on December 5, 1945.
Five "Avenger" planes of the US Navy took off for a training flight and vanished in the air. Despite the experienced pilots aboard, the planes did not return to base.
The compasses stopped working, the weather deteriorated sharply, and the planes lost their way. The rescue plane sent to search also exploded and disappeared without a trace.
The Navy initially attributed this incident to "pilot error," but later changed it to "unknown." There are other mysterious events related to the Bermuda Triangle.
For example, in 1881, the crew of the ship "Ellen Austin" disappeared without a trace; in 1918, the 309-person fuel ship "Cyclops" vanished without any signals; and in 1941, two ships disappeared without a trace within one month. Scientists believe that the Bermuda Triangle is a region rich in natural phenomena.
There is a strong Gulf Stream current here, which has the power to quickly erase traces in the water. Additionally, tropical storms, magnetic deviations, and human errors have caused many disasters.
Research shows that accidents in this area are not more frequent than in other ocean regions; only sensational stories have made it the center of legends. Nevertheless, the Bermuda Triangle continues to attract people as a mysterious and unique region.
It is regarded as a symbol reminding us of the power of nature and the helplessness of humans.
