The official start date of the holy month of Ramadan in Kazakhstan for 2026 has been announced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the calendar approved by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Ramadan in 2026 will begin on February 19. Besides Ramadan, other important Islamic dates are also marked in this calendar.
According to the calendar, the main dates are as follows: – Ramadan month – February 19; – Night of Qadr – March 16–17; – Eid al-Fitr – March 20; – Eid al-Adha – May 27–29. The Spiritual Administration stated that these dates are based on scientific and astronomical calculations.
However, due to the sighting of the new moon, the dates may shift forward or backward by one day. Therefore, the calendar is partially updated every year according to the lunar phases.
Ramadan is considered a month of spiritual purification, fasting, prayer, and charity for Muslims. During this period, Muslims reflect on their deeds and strive to do good.
Ramadan usually lasts 29 or 30 days and ends with Eid al-Fitr. In 2026, Eid al-Fitr will fall on March 20.
As a reminder, Ramadan began on March 1 in 2025.
