Russia became the coldest country on Earth
At the beginning of December 2025, Russia was recorded as the coldest country on our planet. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to information from the Gismeteo portal, the coldest point on Earth is the city of Verkhoyansk in Russia. In recent days, the air temperature in Verkhoyansk has remained around -50 degrees.

This figure is even lower than at the "Vostok" station in Antarctica, where the temperature was recorded at -30 degrees. Meteorologists emphasize that the average temperature in Verkhoyansk in November was -39 degrees.

This city is recognized as the coldest inhabited area in Russia. Among the coldest places recorded in 2025, the record temperature in Antarctica was set at -56.7 degrees.

Additionally, in 2004, satellite observations in Antarctica recorded the lowest temperature of -98.6 degrees. Russia's Verkhoyansk city and the village of Oymyakon in Yakutia stand out as extremely cold regions.

Temperatures as low as -67.8 degrees have been observed in these locations. Furthermore, Canada's Yukon region is also known for its cold temperatures during the winter season.

Meteorologists emphasize that such data is important for understanding and monitoring global climate change. Observations in cold regions play a significant role in identifying the impact of modern climate changes.
