According to North Korean state media, leader Kim Jong Un observed the construction of a new submarine along with his daughter and tested long-range surface-to-air missiles. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the missile test conducted in the eastern coastal area, air targets at a distance of 200 kilometers were successfully destroyed. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed the test and announced their readiness to monitor the missiles.
Kim Jong Un also supervised the construction process of a submarine with a nuclear capacity of 8,700 tons capable of launching surface-to-air missiles. This project is considered part of North Korea's naval modernization program.
The leader emphasized that developing nuclear capabilities and modernizing the fleet are of vital importance for the country's security. At the same time, Kim assessed South Korea's plan to develop a nuclear submarine and the entry of a US military ship into the region as threats.
In his view, such actions require strengthening North Korea's defense capabilities.
