An Attempted Suicide Occurred in Masjidul Haram

The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia officially reported that a man jumped from the upper floor of Masjid al-Haram in the city of Mecca. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The "Khaleej Times" publication provided information about this incident. According to the special forces responsible for ensuring the security of Masjid al-Haram, the man jumped from the upper part of the building with the intention of committing suicide.
During the incident, a security officer nearby tried to prevent him from falling with a hard impact on the ground. In the process, the security officer was also injured.
Currently, both have been hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical treatment. The relevant legal investigation regarding the incident has been completed.
Reacting to this incident, the chief imam of Masjid al-Haram, Abdur Rahman as-Sudais, called on visitors to strictly adhere to the rules of the sacred place. He urged visitors to maintain the established order and discipline and to focus solely on worship and devotion while in the holy sanctuary.
The chief imam also noted that one of the main objectives of Islamic law is the preservation of human life. He reminded of Allah’s verse, “Do not throw yourselves into destruction with your own hands,” emphasizing that life is the greatest blessing for a person.
