The ceasefire during the Easter holiday did not yield the expected result on the front
The temporary ceasefire announced for the Easter holiday did not produce the expected results, and the situation on the front line has escalated again. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The peace intended to be established during the holiday days gave way to further explosions and mutual accusations. Instead of subsiding, the flames of war maintained their intensity even during the holidays.

According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian side violated the ceasefire terms on Sunday. The official statement noted that fifty-five attacks were launched against Ukrainian territories throughout the day.

In particular, the border areas and military positions of the Sumy region came under intensive shelling. A drone attack in the village of Zolochev in the Kharkiv region caused a fire in a grocery store, leaving two civilians injured to varying degrees.

Additionally, three doctors were injured in the Sumy region after an ambulance was targeted. The Russian side, meanwhile, blames Kyiv for the violation of the ceasefire.

The leadership of the Belgorod region reported that Ukrainian drones attacked a car, resulting in the driver being injured and hospitalized. The Russian-controlled administration of the Kherson region also stated that administrative buildings and residential areas were shelled during the night, though it was noted there were no casualties in these incidents.

As a reminder, this ceasefire initiative was proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, military actions were supposed to completely cease during the Easter holiday days.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had also previously made similar proposals and expressed his readiness for a ceasefire. However, in the very first hours after the agreement came into force, the parties began accusing each other of violating it.

This situation once again confirms how fragile and unreliable any short-term peace agreements reached during military conflicts are. It is observed that such temporary ceasefires do not significantly affect the overall course of the war and possess more characteristics of a political maneuver.
