Supertanker hit by mines and exploded in the Strait of Hormuz
A massive supertanker exploded after hitting sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz. One.uz reports.
The incident occurred in the southern part of the strait and was officially confirmed by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The report noted that the tanker attempted to sail through an "illegal route" without coordination with the Iranian side and encountered two mines in succession.
The powerful explosion caused a fire on board, and the vessel has been completely stopped. Currently, there is no clear information regarding casualties, fatalities, the nationality of the vessel, or the fate of the crew members.
IRGC's stern warning The Iranian Navy once again issued a sharp warning that any foreign vessel attempting to illegally pass through the strait in violation of established rules and regulations would face a similar tragic fate. This ultimatum demonstrated the strong surveillance and control system in the region.
Escalation of tensions in the region This incident marked the latest phase in the long-standing military and political clashes in the Persian Gulf. Previously, Iranian military forces had launched missile strikes along the path of US military vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
