Trump proposed to reduce defense spending – Is Putin in agreement?

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to halve defense spending for Russia, the U.S., and China. According to him, Moscow is ready for negotiations on this issue.
"We can reach an agreement with the United States; we are not against it. I think this idea is good: the U.S. and Russia will reduce military spending by 50 percent. If they want, China can also join this process," Putin said in an interview with VGTRK television channel.
Trump plans to hold negotiations on nuclear weapons and defense
In mid-February, Donald Trump announced his intention to discuss nuclear arms control and military budget reductions with Russia and China.
"When we resolve everything, one of the first meetings will be with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. I want to say let's halve our military budget," Trump said.
Additionally, the U.S. president believes that countries "should not produce new nuclear weapons." In his view, existing nuclear weapons are sufficient, and the funds saved from these expenses can be redirected to other, more effective areas.
The issue of reducing military spending between Russia and the U.S. is generating significant interest in the international community. If this agreement is implemented, global security and threats related to nuclear weapons may decrease. Negotiations are currently planned, but time will tell in which direction they will proceed.
