Uzbekistan is advancing to a new stage in the system of investigating road traffic accidents and introducing advanced digital technologies. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Soon, 3D modeling services will be launched to accurately reconstruct the scene of road traffic accidents. These changes are part of a comprehensive reform of forensic activities in the country.
Recently, the head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed measures to expand and modernize state services in the justice system. The main focus was on digital transformation, which aims to reduce human factors and improve the quality of investigations.
Within the reform, special attention is being paid to the activities of the forensic center named after Khadichi Sulaymonova. Currently, although 64 types of expertise are conducted at the center in the capital, this figure is much lower in the regions – only half are available.
To address this issue, it is planned to strengthen the material and technical base of regional centers and increase the number of types of expertise from 15 to 25. New types of expertise will be based on digital technologies and automated software.
In addition to 3D modeling, services for video and photo equipment examination will also be introduced. These measures will significantly improve the quality and objectivity of investigations.
Furthermore, all documents between investigative bodies and expert institutions will be transferred to electronic form, speeding up processes and reducing bureaucratic obstacles. In addition, proposals for the demopolization of forensic activities were supported.
The participation of non-governmental organizations in expert examinations will be expanded, and specialists will be granted the right to operate independently. For this purpose, the Chamber of Forensic Experts of Uzbekistan will be established to regulate the field.
These initiatives are an important part of the strategy to digitize state services and increase the legal literacy of the population. To inform the public about legislative innovations, the AdliyaTV online platform will be launched.
The first scientific research institution in the field of criminology in Central Asia was established in Tashkent in 1950. In 1958, on the initiative of academician Khadichi Sulaymonova, the Tashkent Forensic Scientific Research Institute was founded based on this foundation.
