Hyundai has introduced electric rickshaws
Hyundai, in collaboration with TVS, showcased two electric vehicle concepts designed for efficient movement in the bustling streets of India demonstrated. These models embody the technological features of rickshaws widely used in the country.
E3W and E4W electric rickshaws
The prototypes were named E3W and E4W. The handles installed on the side of the vehicles provide convenient access to the cabin, while the side-exiting stairs facilitate easy access to the cargo area in the upper section. Additionally, the slanted front windows offer a wider field of view for the driver.
In creating the exterior of the body, Hyundai used recycled materials. This method not only simplifies the manufacturing process but also helps reduce the operating costs of electric rickshaws.
Technical details and price
The E3W (on the right) and E4W (on the left) have flat panels and large wheels. However, detailed information about the engine and battery block has not yet been disclosed. In terms of price, the E3W model is expected to be close to the offerings in the current electric rickshaw market. For example, the King EV Max model is priced at $3,410, with a range of 179 km and a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
