In response to various reports circulating on social media in recent days, "Uzavtosanoat" issued an official statement. According to it, there are currently no plans to stop the production of Damas and Labo models.
"At the moment, the issue of stopping the production of Damas and Labo models is not being considered. If there are any changes regarding the products, we will inform you in advance through our official pages," the company's statement said.
Damas – a model that has stood the test of time
According to information, the Damas car has been produced in Uzbekistan since March 1996. Ten years later, in 2006, its updated version was presented to the public. Since 2014, production has been moved from Andijan to Khorezm region.
Damas, which is convenient and economically efficient for the mass consumer, has been strengthening its position in the market over the years. The assembly of 89,100 Damas in the country in 2023 and 101,900 in 2024 is clear evidence of this.
Affordable, reliable, and popular car – in demand in the market
Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that a new model meeting market demand, affordable and reliable, would be produced at the Damas and Labo factory located in the Tuproqqal’a district of Khorezm region with an investment of 100 million dollars.
This vehicle is expected to meet Euro-5 environmental standards and have 7 seats. Following this, various speculations about models from the Srumko‘duye N400 or Wuling series appeared on social media.
A new model will be produced, but Damas will remain
The press service of "Uzavtosanoat" also clarified these rumors:
"The new model will be selected taking into account the desires and needs of consumers. Currently, models with reliable and convenient technical parameters suitable for local conditions are being studied," the statement said.
Thus, it has been confirmed that there is a plan to produce a new model, but this does not mean the cessation of the Damas and Labo lineup.
