Details about the new BYD-brand hybrid crossover revealed in China
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has disclosed information about the hybrid version of the Datang model, one of the largest and most prestigious crossovers under the BYD brand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The new vehicle is being introduced under the DM-P designation and is expected to go on sale in the domestic market in the near future. This model will complement the previously introduced lineup of fully electric versions and will give buyers the opportunity to use plug-in hybrid technology.

In terms of external appearance, the Datang model has retained the distinctive and bold design style typical of the Dynasty series. Even so, the manufacturer has given this crossover an even more striking appearance that distinguishes it from other related models.

The hybrid version differs mainly in the unique design of its wheel disks. Also, the car features door handles concealed in the body, which can also operate mechanically even when power is cut.

This solution fully meets the new safety requirements introduced in China. The dimensions of the crossover are quite substantial: its length ranges from 5263 to 5302 millimeters, width is 1999 millimeters, and height ranges from 1800 to 1810 millimeters.

The wheelbase is 3130 millimeters, indicating the presence of spacious interior space. The weight of the vehicle, depending on the trim, can range from 2790 to 2875 kilograms.

Although the cabin interior appearance and full list of technical equipment are being kept secret for now, it is clear that the model will be equipped with modern driver assistance systems and intelligent technologies. From a technical standpoint, information about the total system power and battery capacity has not yet been disclosed. The crossover's maximum speed is set at 200 kilometers per hour.

The introduction of this new model came at a time when competition has intensified on the Chinese automotive market and demand for vehicles powered by new energy sources is changing. The BYD company aims to further strengthen its position on the market through high-class models such as the Datang.
