BMW company will introduce a new generation of cars in 2028

The German automotive giant BMW is preparing to launch the fourth generation of its popular 1 Series model in 2028, according to Zamin.uz.
The new vehicle is planned to be produced in both fully electric and hybrid powertrain variants, in line with modern demands. Through this compact model, the company aims to attract the attention of young buyers in the European market and strengthen its position.
This information is being shared by industry experts and influential publications. According to Oliver Haymern, BMW’s head of compact car design, the 1 Series remains one of the key pillars of the brand’s market strategy.
The new generation will be developed based on BMW’s entirely new design philosophy, called Neue Klasse. This update will enable the model to compete effectively with strong rivals such as the Mercedes A-Class and Audi A2 E-tron.
This model is one of the important projects that defines the brand’s future development direction. While many automakers today focus their main efforts on crossover and SUV segments—which generate higher profits—BMW’s leadership considers retaining the 1 Series hatchback in its lineup to be of utmost importance.
Figures show that approximately 200,000 units of this model were sold worldwide last year, indicating that demand for compact and economical vehicles remains high.
The new generation of the 1 Series will retain its traditional and practical hatchback shape. However, its exterior design will be completely redesigned in a fresh style seen in modern models like the iX3 and i3.
This approach not only gives each model a distinct character but also helps attract customers to the brand through youth appeal and ensures their loyalty. BMW engineers plan to prioritize both technological superiority and driving pleasure in the new model.
