Itala, one of the historic brands of the Italian automotive industry, is returning to the market after nearly a century of absence, as reported by Zamin.uz.

The task of refining the technical aspects of this project has been entrusted to Roberto Fedeli, former technical director of Ferrari. This initiative is being implemented as part of the broad development strategy of DR Automobiles, a company that has spent the last twenty years adapting vehicles produced in China to European standards.

At the Turin Motor Show, the brand unveiled the Itala 35 model—the first product of its new era—presented to a wide audience. This crossover is based on the GAC Trumpchi GS3 and measures 4.4 meters in length.

The initial price of the new vehicle has been set at 35,000 euros. Under the leadership of Roberto Fedeli, the engineering team completely redesigned the car’s braking system.

While the exterior design was shaped by specialists from Italdesign, the interior features red leather and high-quality upholstery produced by local artisans. DR Automobiles plans to invest 50 million euros in the plant located in Isernia d’Abruzzo as part of its program to revive historic Italian brands.

In return, two new production lines will be established at the facility. The implementation of this project is expected to create nearly 500 new jobs in the region.

This move is significant not only for the brand’s revival but also for the national economy. The company’s management intends to open a total of 50 sales and service centers in the near future for the Itala brand and another legendary marque, Osca.

The first dealership center has begun operations in Turin, regarded as the brand’s historical homeland. These steps aim to secure a worthy position for the brand in the global market by harmonizing Italy’s automotive traditions with modern technologies.

Experts believe that the return of historic names will naturally generate strong interest among consumers.
