Stellantis company expands its range of affordable and compact electric vehicles
The Stellantis automotive group aims to expand its range of affordable urban electric vehicles priced below 15,000 pounds sterling, or approximately 19,000 dollars. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Emanuele Cappellano, head of the company's European division, expressed great confidence in the production of right-hand drive versions of the new generation Fiat Panda and Citroen models. This news is sparking wide discussions among industry experts and car enthusiasts.

The industrial giant is currently creating a special technical base for electric vehicles that do not exceed four meters in length and fully comply with the new requirements of the European Union. According to the plan, the first two models will begin rolling off the assembly line at a plant in Italy starting in 2028.

This project is expected to stand out not only in terms of price but also for its compactness and efficiency. Cappellano emphasized that to achieve the set low price, the new cars must be designed from the ground up to be powered exclusively by electricity.

Additionally, he did not rule out the possibility that other popular brands might join this project in the future. Stellantis is currently considering opportunities to collaborate with international partners, including Chinese manufacturers, to further improve this technical base.

Europe's new regulations provide certain incentives for companies producing small-sized electric vehicles. This helps enterprises improve their overall indicators regarding the reduction of harmful gas emissions into the environment.

Although producing right-hand drive cars requires additional investment, the concern is firmly determined to sell these affordable models in major markets such as Britain. Competition in this segment is currently intensifying.

For example, other major car brands are also preparing to launch their own small and affordable electric vehicles on the market. Stellantis plans to achieve high efficiency in battery and electric motor technologies through its new platform and seize leadership in the affordable electric vehicle market.

This step could fundamentally change urban transport systems in the future and make electric transport accessible to everyone.
