Hyundai is becoming the full owner of Boston Dynamics

Hyundai Motor Group, South Korea's largest automotive conglomerate, has announced that it will fully owner. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision indicates that the company is expanding its focus beyond automotive into future robotics and artificial intelligence sectors. According to reports, Hyundai is purchasing an additional 9.65% stake from SoftBank Group for $325 million.
Upon completion of the deal, Boston Dynamics will come under full control of the South Korean conglomerate. Hyundai Motor already held over 80% of the company through its subsidiaries Kia and Hyundai Mobis.
This strategic move aims to deepen the integration of robotics and automotive technologies. Robots developed by Boston Dynamics, such as the Spot robot dog and the humanoid Atlas, are expected to assist in automating manufacturing processes at Hyundai plants.
They could also be used for material handling, packaging, and performing hazardous tasks, helping to reduce operational costs and increase production efficiency.
In the Uzbek market, where Hyundai has established a strong presence with models like the Tucson, Elantra, and Santa Fe, this news is part of the company's global strategy. Hyundai plans to evolve from being merely a vehicle manufacturer into a provider of comprehensive technological solutions.
This means that in the future, we can expect cars to become smarter and more autonomous. The Board of Directors is scheduled to meet on June 22.
At this meeting, the board will approve the transaction. SoftBank has decided to exercise its pre-agreed option to sell its remaining stake.
This will give Hyundai the opportunity to fully integrate the company. Experts believe that Hyundai is making this investment to gain a competitive edge over Tesla and other technological giants.
Robotics advancements will play a key role in future projects such as driverless vehicles and urban air mobility (UAM). In this way, Hyundai will continue to enrich its traditional model lineup with high-tech innovations.
This approach positions the company not only as a leader in the automotive sector but also as a key player in one of the directions of future technologies. As a result, customers will benefit from more convenient, safe, and efficient solutions.
This process is considered an important part of the company's long-term development strategy.
