Cars 30 years old will be scrapped in Uzbekistan starting from 2026

Starting from 2026, a phased system for the disposal of cars produced 30 years ago or more will be introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the new regulations established by the Waste Management Agency, old vehicles will be purchased by the state at market value. Car owners will have two options.
First, they can receive monetary compensation. Second, they can use an electronic voucher to purchase a new locally produced car on preferential terms.
The possibility of paying for a new car in installments via the electronic voucher will also be provided. This procedure is aimed at making it easier for citizens who hand over old vehicles to purchase a new car.
Additionally, such an approach will serve to bring updates to the automobile market. Citizens who refuse to hand over a vehicle that has reached the end of its service life will be required to pay an ecological compensation in the amount of 30 BHM (Base Calculating Amount) annually.
This amount is determined based on the age and technical condition of the vehicle. The new measures are being implemented to reduce the amount of harmful substances emitted into the atmosphere, increase road safety, and develop the waste recycling system.
The state is paying special attention to ensuring the active participation of citizens in these efforts.
