Uzbekistan is preparing to produce the "Atom" electric car
The Russian company "Kama" is negotiating to establish the production of the "Atom" electric car in Uzbekistan, TASS agency reported.
Additionally, the Uzbek side may have the opportunity to acquire technologies developed by Russian engineers. Similar negotiations are also being conducted by the company with China and other countries.
The "Atom" electric car was initially presented in the spring of 2023, and its production is expected to start in the second half of 2025. The vehicle will be equipped with a 77 kWh battery and will have the capability to cover a distance of 500 km.
According to manufacturers, the electric car will reach a speed of 100 km/h in 8 seconds, and its starting price is expected to be around 2.9 million rubles or 32,100 dollars.
The Uzbek government is taking various measures to encourage electric vehicle production in the country. In particular, until 2030, electric vehicle manufacturers are exempt from the utilization fee, and customs privileges have been granted for the import of spare parts.
