The price of old cars in Russia has decreased by 15%
According to interfax-russia.ru, the average price of second-hand cars in Russia has decreased by 15% over the past year, based on data from "Drom".
In February, Russians purchased cars at a price that was 15% lower compared to the previous year. The average price fell from 1.3 million rubles to 1.1 million rubles.
The largest price drops were observed in the models Toyota Vista (-45%), Hyundai Sonata (-24%), BMW X5 (-22%), and Hyundai Elantra (-20%).
Additionally, as of January 1, 2025, the average age of light vehicles in Russia was 15.5 years. The oldest cars are domestic vehicles, with an average age of 18.7 years. Next are Japanese cars with an average age of 17.1 years. American cars rank third with an average age of 15.4 years. The youngest car fleet belongs to Chinese manufacturers, with an average age of 4.9 years.
