The Uchtepa Interdistrict Civil Court made a decision in a case regarding copyright infringement. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Batir Qodirov participated as the defendant. According to the court ruling, the artist must pay a large amount of compensation to the poet Shamsiddin Sadoyi for using his works without permission.
The total amount recovered is 132 million soms. This was reported by the Press Service of the Department for the Protection of Information and Intellectual Property.
The claim of poet Shamsiddin Turaev, whose pen name is Sadoyi, was submitted to the court in June 2025. In his appeal, he demanded the cessation of illegal use of his intellectual property as well as compensation for material and moral damages.
After reviewing the case documents, the court decided to recover 112.5 million soms from the defendant for material damages, as well as 20 million soms as compensation for moral damages. This compensation equals 300 base calculation units.
In addition to financial penalties, the court imposed a ban on Batir Qodirov. He must immediately stop performing and distributing three songs — "Davlating borida," "Omonat," and "Tingla do‘stim."
These restrictions apply to broadcasts on state and non-state television and radio channels, social networks, streaming platforms, and all other forms of public display. This is the third case of illegal use of intellectual property in court proceedings involving Batir Qodirov.
This situation is noted as a negative practice for the artist. Previously, he was held liable and fined for using works without the author's consent based on a complaint by poet Shohruh Abduvahidov.
Additionally, it is known that in a previous case, he was fined 1.8 million soms under the same article.
