The famous film company Sony Pictures has decided to start producing a movie based on "Labubu World." This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Hollywood Reporter publication is reporting this. Currently, the project is in its initial stages, and full details are not yet known.
Labubu is a series of toys created by artist Kasing Lung and originally produced by the How2Work company. These products became very popular worldwide after Pop Mart began mass production in 2019.
Buyers organize real hunts to find these toys, which are sold in a "blind box" method, because it is impossible to know which character is inside until the box is opened.
The demand for the Labubu series has increased to such an extent that a secondary market has also formed. Rare and limited editions are sold at auctions for large sums.
Another reason for their popularity is the support of these toys by famous personalities. For example, Lisa from the group Blackpink has made Labubu toys a part of her image, and they have become widespread as fashion accessories.
Now, the Labubu project is moving to a new stage. A full-length film is planned to be produced.
So far, the film's producer and director have not been selected, and it has not been disclosed whether the project will be animated or filmed in a realistic style. However, this project reminds of the successful experience of other famous brands that have made the journey from store shelves to the global film industry.
