Farrux Zokirov awarded in Moscow: Honored with the 'Friendship' Order
The People's Artist of Uzbekistan, the legendary artistic director of the "Yalla" ensemble, Farrux Zokirov, was awarded the prestigious state award of the Russian Federation — the "Friendship" Order. This award ceremony took place on May 28 during the fifth session of the intergovernmental commission on cultural issues of Uzbekistan-Russia Economic Cooperation held in Tashkent.

This order, presented for the efforts to further develop cultural relations and strengthen friendly relations between the two nations, was ceremoniously handed over by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and the Minister of Culture of Russia, Olga Lyubimova.

For the last several decades, Farrux Zokirov has been recognized not only in Uzbekistan but also throughout the former Soviet Union as a widely acclaimed artist. His work with the "Yalla" ensemble, along with his folk songs and music, has played a significant role in strengthening friendship between peoples.

During the ceremony, the culture ministers of the two countries exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of their cooperation. They noted the necessity of implementing joint projects in the fields of theater, cinema, art, and music, as well as expanding creative exchanges and cultural dialogue among youth.

It is worth noting that in November 2024, based on a special decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Farrux Zokirov and the singer of "Uzbekconcert," Sevara Nazarxon, were awarded the "Friendship" Order. This order has been granted since 1994 in the Russian Federation to individuals who have made significant contributions to strengthening friendly relations among various nationalities and peoples, as well as in the fields of science, culture, art, and humanitarian efforts.

Farrux Zokirov's high recognition is described not only as a proud moment for his artistic legacy but also for the entire culture of Uzbekistan. His creative path will remain in history not only as a symbol of friendship but also as a cultural bridge between the two nations.
