Singer Manzura: “The first secret of my youthful appearance is that I am not married”

Manzura was born into an artistic family

In her interviews, singer Manzura emphasizes that she is grateful to her parents for growing up in a complete family and having a childhood filled with beautiful memories.

— My childhood was truly beautiful. I was a chubby, innocent girl myself. From a very young age, I was interested in art. The process in my father's workshop also brought me joy, says singer Manzura.

Manzura's father was one of the famous artists of his time. For this reason, Muborak Yuldoshev noticed his daughter's love for art early on. Noticing her unique talent at the age of five, he consulted with his friend Karimxoji and enrolled her in the Uspenskiy Music School. The young singer skillfully sings the aria “Karubina” with the “Neymer” orchestra. Her vocal range impresses her teachers, as it is much stronger compared to her peers.

The “Sebonu” group that didn't go far

In Uzbek pop music, the trio group is associated with “Setora.” Prior to that, a group named “Sebonu” was formed in Uzbek pop music. The group, consisting of three girls, was first established by Manzura, her sister Nigina, and her friend Nargiza in 1996. Under the leadership of talented singer Ravshan Zokirov, the trio recorded two songs and secured second place in the “Ofarin-96” contest. The unexpected turn of events delighted all three artists. As a result, soloist Manzura graduated from the Uspenskiy Music School that year and continued her studies at the Tashkent State Conservatory. By that time, Nargiza in the group dedicated herself to musicology. The successful trio then transformed into the “Osiyo” duet.

Her sister did not want to be an artist

The “Osiyo” group, consisting of sisters, initially created meaningful art. After a year, they presented an album titled “Yolg'izim,” and two of their songs became popular. However, the sisters often faced financial difficulties in their creative endeavors. They would seek help from companies to create songs and clips, and despite their income being limited, they spent everything on their art. Unfortunately, by 2000, Manzura found herself alone in her artistic journey. Her sister Nigina could not see her future in this field and left “Osiyo” to try her hand at design. After that, she began collaborating with Rustam Sa'diyev, a well-known director who is now a prominent filmmaker. Working with the producer brought great success and fame to the singer.

Her producer turned her into an actress

Many associate Manzura's rise to fame with the song “Manzura” from the film “Tahir and Zuhra” and the clip made for it. The unusual image and song made Manzura memorable to the audience.

2002 was a lucky year for the singer. She received the state award named “Nihol.” Her producer Rustam Sa'diyev recognized her acting talent and invited her to his film “Trials of Love.” The role she played and the soundtrack she sang became popular among viewers. The success of the film “Sevginator”

In 2007, the singer was invited to the technological film “Sevginator.” For three years, Manzura took acting lessons from Munavvara Abdullayeva and had to embody two characters.

— I didn't really want to play a role in “Sevginator.” Even the next day when they said it was filming, I said, “Take singer Lola instead of me.” Then the director came to me and said, “There is no other cold face like yours,” says singer Manzura.

In one of her interviews, the singer mentioned an assassination attempt on her team, which caused serious harm and led to their capture.

— About twenty years ago, at a wedding, someone came with a knife intending to beat the kids in the team and tried to kill them. I was a very “spirited” girl. Even when I got off the horse, I didn't get off the saddle. I responded exactly as they said. After various discussions, they let us go. They surrounded us, and they beat my manager. When we recall such situations, it happens often, says the singer.

About her failure in business

Singer Manzura, along with her sister Nigina, started a clothing boutique called “Manzura.” She worked on the design of the clothes and their advertisements, even conducting special photo sessions. Especially, her special photo session with Turkish photographer Tayfun in Bali caused a lot of discussions.

— Sometimes singers have other businesses. Some of them have wealthy parents. My sister and I couldn't do any other business. I paid for my clips and advertisements myself. I spent a lot of money on these as well. For example, I take money from weddings and give it to television, then take that money to the director, for sound recording, in short, I only have enough money left for daily expenses. Like every Uzbek, we bought our house gradually, paying in installments. We couldn't afford to buy it all at once, says the singer.

“I fell into depression”

In one of her interviews, the singer mentioned that her lifestyle and thoughts have completely changed in recent years.

— About 5-6 years ago, I fell into a deep depression. This was due to people asking, “When will you get married? Will you be childless? You will lose the meaning of your life.” At that time, I searched the internet for “What is the meaning of life?” One piece of information caught my attention. I read that “For Muslims, it is faith and obedience,” and my heart was moved. After that, my thoughts and outlook on life changed. God willing, I will get married and have children, says singer Manzura.

“I want my husband to be like me, but...”

The singer also mentioned what kind of man she wants to marry and which category of men she cannot live with.

— I respect men who know many languages, accept our religion gently, and are kind to women. It is not right to oppress women and say they should just stay at home. A woman is also an emotional being, and it is easy to break her spirit. I wish for my husband to be a person with a Russian temperament like mine, but a Muslim, and to respect my interests. I do not understand people who live only for wealth and unnecessary values. For example, even though Elon Musk is a billionaire, he lives in a simple apartment. However, his goals are very grand. He dreams of going to Mars and living there. Unlike some people, he does not spend his life building a lavish house. The technologies he creates are making life easier for people. What I mean is, if a man has a broad worldview, a woman will strive towards him as well. A woman should not spend her life just cleaning furniture and washing pots. Like all women, I get bored doing housework. What I mean is, a man and a woman should complement each other and strive for higher goals, says singer Manzura.

“We lost our parents one after another”

Manzura spoke about how she fell into despair after losing her parents and went through difficult days.

— After losing my parents, I lost interest in everything and fell into depression. We lived in one house with four people: my parents, my sister, and me. Imagine, within four months, two people passed away.

My late father loved olive salad and oranges, which were often served on New Year's tables. We enjoyed setting the table and watching TV together as a family. In the summer of 2018, we lost our parents one after another, and now my sister Nigina and I sit alone at the New Year's table. This situation has a very strong impact on a person's psyche. There were even days when we didn't want to do repairs in the house because we could see our parents' faces in every corner. Everything in the house reminded us of memories associated with them.

I lived with my parents until I was 40 years old. Sometimes I would even lament that I couldn't have children. But with God's will, a person gets married and has children. Until the marriage is destined from heaven, one cannot get close to a man. So, I console myself that it must be this way.

I loved traveling with my parents, especially to the beaches in Antalya. However, after losing my parents, I lost the desire to travel. The role of parents in a person's life is significant; unfortunately, you feel this even more strongly after losing them, says singer Manzura.

— The first secret of my youthful appearance is that I am not married. I have not had children because I know that raising children is also very hard work. This also ages you. I do not have this blessing for now. God willing, it will happen. Then I regularly visit a cosmetologist. It would be a lie to say, “I am naturally beautiful,” says the singer.

“Aren't you tired of being alone?”

I am also an ordinary woman, and of course, I get bored of being alone. But this is fate. This is the destiny that God has given. I must accept this fate and live with gratitude. Because we do not know, God may be protecting us from some misfortunes or hardships, from a troublesome spouse or troublesome children. Therefore, I must enjoy life and live with gratitude, says singer Manzura.

In one of her interviews, the singer talked about taking care of a disabled kitten.

“I found a disabled kitten on the street on Facebook and took care of it. If I give it up, they will immediately euthanize it. At night, it presses its face against mine, as if begging, ‘Don’t give me away.’ When I do gymnastics, it comes and lies on the carpet, making me laugh with its antics,” the singer said.
