"Squid Game 2" has become the most-watched series worldwide in 2024

“Squid Game 2” series' second season was released by Netflix at the end of last year and caused a huge stir in the film industry. The series quickly surpassed all other series, with the number of viewers increasing day by day.

According to international Nielsen company, which deals with audience measurement for television, radio, cinema, and other media, the continuation of the dystopia was watched for more than 4 billion minutes from December 23 to 29. This means that the viewing time by the audience amounted to nine years in one week.

Although “Squid Game 2” had double the viewing time compared to other competing series, seven other projects were watched for more than one billion minutes from December 23 to December 29. For example, the film “Red” was watched for nearly 2 billion minutes, while the thriller “Handful” was watched for 1.5 billion minutes.

The second season of this series, filmed in South Korea, was presented on Netflix on December 26, 2024. The show received an 83% positive rating from critics and a 63% positive rating from viewers on the Rotten Tomatoes platform.
