Robert Pattinson, known for his role as a famous vampire in the “Twilight” franchise, a star of the sci-fi blockbuster “Tenet,” and the superhero “Batman,” was once a young actor trying to break into the film industry. On his path to success, he used cunning and later admitted this years later:
“I was unemployed for many years. When I first came to Los Angeles, casting directors asked me what I had been busy with in recent years. I told them I studied at RADA. Those words sounded more credible because of my English accent,” Pattinson said to the Mirror publication.
RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) is the most famous and prestigious acting and drama arts academy located in Britain. It is recognized as one of the best acting schools in the world.
Fortunately for Pattinson, no one checked his diploma and other documents, and he was accepted for the role.

Actress Mila Kunis revealed in one of her interviews that she had to hide her real age to play the role of Jackie Burkhart in the TV series “That '70s Show.” The actresses applying for the project had to be over 18, but Mila had just turned 14.
The future star added not one, not two, but a full four years to her age. The producers only learned her real age after recognizing her talent. Thus, the role in “That '70s Show” became a starting point in Mila's career.
Eddie Redmayne

Although Eddie Redmayne is a talented actor, he was unaware of horseback riding skills. During the casting for the role in the TV series “Elizabeth I,” director Tom Hooper asked him, “Are you sure you won't fall off the horse?” Redmayne, not wanting to miss the opportunity, assured everyone that he knew how to ride. However, it became evident on set that his words were a lie:
“When the crew shouted ‘Motor,’ I literally started going down the hill on a horse at 100 miles per hour. I put both myself and half the crew in great danger,” Redmayne said in an interview with Conan O'Brien.
At that moment, the director exclaimed, “You are a complete liar, Redmayne!” After that, Eddie was immediately sent to horseback riding classes.

During her teenage years, Chloë Grace Moretz desperately wanted to land the role of Isabel in the film “Hugo” and decided to lie to director Martin Scorsese. Since the character was British, the actress came to the audition with a British accent and fabricated stories.
“The casting director knew I wasn't British, but seeing my readiness to lie, they kept me,” the actress said.
Chris Hemsworth

The 190 cm tall actor Chris Hemsworth sometimes got into the habit of intentionally stating that he was shorter during casting.
“The roles I wanted to play didn't quite match my height and physique, so I would say my measurements were smaller,” the actor said in an interview with Radio Times.
However, his height gave him an advantage for other films:
“One of the requirements for the Thor character was that the actor had to be over 180 cm tall. That's why I was considered the ideal candidate for the role of the God of Thunder,” Hemsworth said.
Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway convinced casting directors that she could ride a horse to land the lead role in the film “The Dark Knight Rises.”
“My parents once gave me valuable advice: if someone asks you if you can do something, always say ‘yes.’ If you try hard enough, you can learn everything in two weeks.”
The actress convinced the director of her skills as a rider and, after passing the casting, immediately enrolled in horseback riding classes. However, during filming, unexpectedly, the horse did not listen to Anne and threw her to the ground in front of all the professional rodeo performers.
