
The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs' traffic safety service provided information about the traffic accident. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On July 20, 2024, at approximately 13:10, a traffic accident occurred near the intersection of Oltintepa and Chahbud streets in the Mirzo Ulugbek district. The driver of a Tracker vehicle, traveling at high speed, collided with a Lacetti vehicle that was turning onto Sayohat street next to the Rublyovka store.
As a result of the collision, the Tracker driver lost control, hit a pedestrian standing at the roadside, and crashed into a parking area. Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene due to the injuries sustained in this traffic accident.
A criminal case has been initiated based on part 2 of the violation of traffic safety rules under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The person involved in the crime may face a penalty of up to seven years of imprisonment.
According to witnesses, the driver was a minor; however, the official authorities have neither confirmed nor denied this information. All details of the incident are currently being investigated.
