Ukrainian Armed Forces rescued a soldier with the help of a heavy drone

The Armed Forces of Ukraine evacuated a wounded soldier stranded at the front line using a heavy-lift drone. One.uz reports.
This was one of the first such operations recorded during the war. 49-year-old Konstantin Vlasenko was deployed to a position in the Kupiansk direction of Kharkiv Oblast in June 2025.
He remained stranded in an area near the front for nearly 500 days. Extracting him by conventional means was extremely dangerous due to Russian drones and mined roads.
The servicemember sustained severe injuries to both legs as a result of a drone attack. He stated that his condition deteriorated, forcing him to amputate part of his legs himself.
A heavy drone capable of lifting up to 90 kilograms was used to rescue him. Vlasenko was secured to the drone with a special attachment and transported to a safe zone approximately 15 kilometers away.
The flight lasted about 15 minutes. Rescue plan and outcome A thorough rescue plan was developed before the operation.
Other unmanned aerial vehicles were also deployed to ensure the safe movement of the drone. After Vlasenko was delivered to the safe zone, he was taken to a hospital.
He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at a medical facility in Kharkiv. This incident demonstrated that heavy-lift drones can also be used to save lives in situations where conventional evacuation is impossible on the battlefield.
