Teachers were involved in repair work at school number 42 in the Marhamat district of Andijan region. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A video showing female teachers painting the walls has circulated on social media. In the video, they appear to be in high spirits, and it is mentioned in the background that lunch is being prepared for them.
Mathematics and English teachers also actively participated in the repair work. The Ministry of Preschool and School Education stated that it is paying serious attention to this situation and has taken strict control over it.
In the Uzbek education system, it is not uncommon for teachers to be engaged in tasks that do not fall within their responsibilities, such as cotton picking or cleaning the area. This issue has sparked extensive discussions among the public regarding the rights of teachers and the proper distribution of their working hours.
Legislation stipulates that teachers should only engage in their primary duty – educating children. Involving them in other tasks like repairs contradicts legal norms and negatively affects the reputation of the profession.
Therefore, it is necessary to prevent such situations that hinder the primary activities of teachers.
