According to the press service of the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, two individuals related to the crime were detained during a rapid operation conducted in the Shakhrikhan district. This was reported by Upl.uz.
They organized cockfights in the area of a fruit garden. It was revealed that these individuals created an illegal gambling venue, collected money from spectators, and accepted bets as a result of special operations carried out by law enforcement officers.
During the operational event, dozens of spectators were present at the illegal venue. Two roosters, 300 US dollars, and 1,377,000 soums in cash were confiscated during the event.
A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of the article "Organizing and conducting gambling" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding this incident. Individuals involved in the crime may face a penalty of up to seven years of imprisonment.
