On August 19 at around 11:00 AM, a fire broke out on the roof of the Islamic Civilization Center building located on Zarkaynar Street in the Olmazor district of the capital. Emergency service personnel promptly arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the fire.
At 11:32 AM, the fire was contained and fully extinguished two minutes later. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was a violation of technological rules during the installation of thermal insulation materials.
As a result of the fire, 19 square meters of thermal insulation material on the roof of the building were damaged. No one was injured in the incident.
According to the Emergency Situations Department, no unique exhibits were stored in the building. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, visited the scene and familiarized himself with the consequences of the fire.
Necessary measures are being taken regarding this incident.
