The press service of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs reported that illegal activity has been stopped. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A special rapid operation was conducted by the internal affairs officers. During the operation, it was revealed that a resident of Khonka district, born in 1966, had organized a gambling game association in his home.
During the operation, there were a total of 9 people in his house from Khonka, Qoshkupir, and Yangiyer districts, as well as from Khiva city and the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. They were gambling with money.
Additionally, funds used for betting amounting to 37.5 million soms and 4100 US dollars were identified and confiscated. A criminal case was initiated under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the article “Organization and conduct of gambling games.”
The person who organized the gambling association may face up to 7 years of imprisonment.
