
According to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the illegal use of electricity. This was reported by Upl.uz.
In cooperation with law enforcement officers and representatives of other agencies, the activities of “N.L.L.S.” LLC located in the Davlatobod district of Namangan region were examined. The investigation revealed that the responsible persons of the enterprise interfered with the electricity consumption measuring device, which led to underreporting of the readings.
As a result, the criminals illegally consumed 2.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, amounting to a total of 1 billion 900 million soums. A criminal case was initiated under Article 169, Part 4 (“Theft”) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding this incident.
According to this article, the guilty persons may face imprisonment for up to 15 years. The investigation is currently ongoing.
