According to the press service of the State Security Service, the illegal activities of several individuals have been stopped. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Residents of Pap district in Namangan region organized a group on Telegram to distribute various content related to an international terrorist organization. They also became acquainted with a citizen of Fergana region living in South Korea and planned to join the ranks of international terrorists.
The criminals involved two more people from their close circle, actively promoting ideas of religious extremism and fanaticism, and aimed to change the constitutional order of our country. They invited their neighbors and acquaintances to join their secret community.
As a result, the criminal group consisted of 21 people. A criminal case was initiated against four main organizers under the articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning “Preparation, storage, distribution or demonstration of materials threatening public safety and order” and “Creation, leadership or participation in religious extremist, separatist, fundamentalist or other prohibited organizations.”
Preliminary investigation actions are being carried out against the remaining 17 individuals. These measures are being implemented within the framework of ensuring security in our country and combating terrorism.
