A 17-year-old teenager drowned in the Burijar canal. This canal passes through the Seoul Mun area.
The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported this. According to the information, the incident happened on August 22, 2023.
The teenager tried to retrieve a cap that had fallen into the water. He drowned in the canal and was unable to get out of the water by himself.
His friend tried to help him and barely managed to save himself. Unfortunately, rescuers who arrived at the scene could not find the teenager's body because the strong current carried him downstream along the canal.
Search operations are ongoing. All necessary measures are being taken regarding the incident.
To ensure public safety and prevent such incidents, authorities are strengthening control.
