The press service of the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office reported that in the last days of this year, the illegal production of inedible vegetable oil was discovered in the Shahrisabz and Kitob districts. This was reported by Upl.uz.
During rapid operations conducted jointly by the Department's employees and internal affairs bodies, it was revealed that two citizens had established hidden workshops for the production of cottonseed oil in buildings and facilities not intended for residential use. In this operation, a total of 157 liters of inedible cottonseed oil, 250 kilograms of sunflower seeds, as well as special technical equipment and other tools used in production were confiscated.
Criminal proceedings were initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning "Illegal production or circulation of products obtained from cotton seeds" in connection with these incidents. These measures are aimed at ensuring food safety in our country and strengthening the fight against illegal activities.
The relevant authorities continue to keep the situation under control and protect the interests of citizens.
