The State Security Service press office reported the detection of gold jewelry smuggling. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A special rapid operation was conducted in cooperation with border troops personnel and representatives of the Fergana regional customs department. During the operation, two citizens born in 1991 and 1993 from Fergana district were detained.
It was revealed that they attempted to illegally transport 19 kilograms and 119 grams of gold jewelry across the state border from Kyrgyzstan. The initial value of this gold jewelry is estimated at approximately 20 billion soums.
Currently, all confiscated gold items are undergoing expert examination. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
This incident is being investigated in accordance with legal procedures, and necessary measures are being taken.
