State Security Service officers have detained a person involved in corruption, according to the SGB press service. This was reported by Upl.uz.
SGB officers, in cooperation with the regional department staff under the Prosecutor General's Office, arrested a legal advisor of the Tashkent region Construction and Communal Services main department. This person received 15 thousand US dollars.
In exchange for the money, he promised to help ensure a positive decision in the appellate instance regarding an administrative case opened against an enterprise serving the population in the Bo‘kin district of Tashkent region through his acquaintances. A criminal case was initiated under the articles "Fraud" and "Assisting in bribery" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning this incident.
The suspect was subjected to detention as a preventive measure. Additionally, the Ministry of Construction and Communal Services recently announced that there are no cases of corruption within its structure.
This incident confirms the firm position of state bodies in the fight against corruption, and legal measures are ongoing.
