The press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office reported that illegal tobacco products circulation has been prevented. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Special operational measures were carried out by the employees of the Tashkent region administration. During the operation, an individual attempting to sell 3 thousand packs of contraband cigarettes for 43 million soums was detained in the territory of the "Okibat" neighborhood citizens' gathering in Tashkent district.
Additionally, 4005 packs of foreign tobacco products were seized from this individual as evidence. It was determined that all seized tobacco products were illegally brought into the territory of Uzbekistan.
A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning the "Illegal circulation or production of ethanol, alcohol, and tobacco products."
