From January to May 2025, the number of foreign citizens arriving in Uzbekistan for tourism purposes reached 4.2 million. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This information is based on data from the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Compared to the same period last year, the number of guests increased by 1.4 million, or 48.2 percent.
This, in turn, indicates the growing tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the effectiveness of the measures being taken to develop the sector. The most tourists came from the following countries: 1,280.1 thousand from Kyrgyzstan, 993.7 thousand from Tajikistan, 889.6 thousand from Kazakhstan, 334.3 thousand from Russia, 199.2 thousand from Afghanistan, 142.5 thousand from Turkmenistan, 65.8 thousand from Turkey, 51.9 thousand from China, 28.5 thousand from India, 17.4 thousand from Italy, and a total of 201.1 thousand from other countries.
These figures indicate the increasing reputation of Uzbekistan as an international tourism center and the growing interest in the country.
