The press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported that the sale of tobacco products through contraband has been stopped. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A special rapid operation was conducted in cooperation with the employees of the Almazar district administration and representatives of the Internal Affairs Department. During the operation, the sale of contraband tobacco products was detected in a store belonging to "R." LLC located in the "Jiydali" neighborhood.
A total of 3,407 unmarked cigarettes and 293 unmarked electronic cigarettes were found in the store and seized as material evidence. A criminal case has been initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding the "Illegal circulation or production of ethanol, alcohol, and tobacco products."
This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of measures aimed at preventing illegal tobacco trade in the country. Relevant authorities continue to combat such cases.
