The St. Petersburg team "Zenit" has loaned right-back Sergey Volkov to the "Sochi" club for one season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Volkov moved from his hometown team "Krasnodar" to "Zenit" in the summer of 2024. However, he missed a large part of the last season due to a serious knee injury.
The contract between Sergey and "Zenit" will last for another three years. The "Sochi" team returned to the RPL at the end of the last season.
They defeated the "Pari NN" club in the playoff matches. In the first round of the new season, "Sochi" lost 0:3 away to Moscow's "Lokomotiv".
The team is managed by Spanish coach Robert Moreno. This decision was made to strengthen the defense line of the "Sochi" club and achieve good results in the new season.
Volkov's loan is important for restoring his health and ensuring his full return to the field.
