The first Sikh coach started working in England

For the first time in England, a Sikh of Indian nationality has been appointed as the head coach of a football club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

This country was a colony of England for centuries and still maintains close ties with them today. The person in question is Ashvir Singh Johal.

He signed a coaching contract with "Morecambe," a club playing in England's fifth strongest league. Ashvir is considered an experienced specialist in his field.

He has worked for the past ten years at the youth academy of the "Leicester" club. In 2022, he served as assistant coach to Kolo Toure at "Wigan," a club that played in England's Championship league.

At the new club, he replaces Derek Adams. The coaching change is related to the change of club owners.

Now, the club is managed by a consortium of businessmen called Panjab Warriors. It is clear that they are also from India.
