FIFA has officially announced the prize money for the Club World Cup.
The total prize pool is $1 billion, which will be distributed among 32 teams.
Teams will receive $525 million just for participation:
- European clubs — from $12.81 million to $38.19 million (depending on their ranking).
- South American clubs — starting from $15.21 million.
- Asian, African, and CONCACAF clubs — starting from $9.55 million.
- Oceania clubs — starting from $3.58 million.
The remaining $475 million will be distributed based on results:
- $1 million — for a draw in the group stage.
- $2 million — for a win in the group stage.
- + $7.5 million — for a Round of 16 qualification.
- + $13.125 million — for a Quarterfinal qualification.
- + $21 million — for a Semifinal qualification.
- + $30 million — for a Final qualification.
- + $40 million — for the tournament winner.
Thus, the winning team can earn approximately $150 million in one month, which is more than what is earned in 9 months in the Champions League.
