Former footballer Yuri Kovtun, who played as a defender for Moscow “Spartak,” shared his thoughts on the sending off of “Krasnodar” player John Kordoba. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The incident occurred during the seventh round of the Russian championship in a match against Moscow CSKA. Kordoba received a red card in the 56th minute for kicking Moises's hand with his foot.
The final result of the match ended in a 1:1 draw. According to Kovtun, the head referee did not fully understand the situation.
He stated that the referee should have given what he saw. Kordoba should have been shown only a yellow card and allowed to continue playing.
After this match, “Krasnodar” is leading the tournament table with 16 points from 7 games. CSKA is second with 15 points, as are Kaliningrad's “Baltika” and the capital's “Lokomotiv” teams, both also with 15 points.
