Parfenov highlighted three unexpected teams in the RPL

Former Moscow “Spartak” defender Dmitriy Parfenov said that three teams surprised him in the initial stage of the 2025/2026 Russian Premier League season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He specifically highlighted the Kaliningrad “Baltika” team along with Moscow “Lokomotiv” and CSKA teams. According to Parfenov, the position of “Baltika” in the standings is very surprising because they are playing each match consistently.

Also, “Lokomotiv” should be on this list. He emphasized the successful combination of experienced players with young talents at “Lokomotiv” and the club’s proper transfer policy.

As for CSKA, according to Parfenov, coach Fabio Celestini has brought new spirit and motivation to the team. Currently, after seven rounds, CSKA occupies second place in the league table, “Baltika” is third, and “Lokomotiv” is in fourth position.

These three teams have accumulated 15 points each, just one point less than the leader “Krasnodar.” This situation indicates that the season is going to be interesting and competitive.
