Brazilian wing-back Antoni could have transferred to Bayern instead of Betis. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The Sevilla team purchased the 25-year-old player from Manchester United on the last day of the transfer window. At the same time, Bayern also showed interest in the player and offered him much more favorable conditions.
In an interview with El Partidazo de COPE, Antoni said that he communicated with Bayern a day before making the decision to transfer. He emphasized that he does not know the accuracy of the information about a 7 million euro annual salary.
During the discussions, Antoni stated that he decided to fulfill the promise he made to Betis. He said he respects Bayern as one of the top three clubs in the world, but the decision was easy to make.
