Yamal Fati did not want to take the number, because of friendship

Barcelona's wing-back Lamin Yamal revealed that he did not want to take the number ten jersey belonging to Ansu Fati. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

During the last season, Fati went on loan to Monaco, leaving the number ten jersey vacant. As expected, Barcelona gave this number to 18-year-old Yamal.

According to Yamal, he did not want to take Fati's number because he is a close friend. He did not feel any pressure and preferred for everything to continue as usual.

The Spanish media are quoting the opinions of this young star of the Catalan team. It is worth recalling that Ansu Fati inherited the number ten jersey at Barcelona from Lionel Messi.

Messi left the club in 2021. Although the Spanish forward was viewed with great hopes at the start of his career, he later could not secure a place in the main squad due to injuries.
